Represent the Independent District in 2012

It is becoming increasingly prestigious to represent The Independent District. Students from SCISSA schools compete at the Sunshine Coast Regional various sports carnivals as Independent District. Students from all the SCISSA schools are eligible for selection and compete against other Districts in the Sunshine Coast region.

Sunshine Coast Region School Sport

Students compete for the Independent District at the Sunshine Coast Regional Carnivals.

The Secondary Districts in the Sunshine Coast Region are: North Zone, Central Zone, South Zone and Independent.

Students wishing to represent the Independent District are to do so through their own school or college. Schools will nominate students to trial.

Secondary Independent District Trials 2012

Independent trials are for students in the 15 years and Open age group.

Trial Day 1 2012

Independent District Trial Day 1 on Tuesday 7th February will take place for the following sports: All trials commence at 4.30pm

• 15 years Boys and Girls Volleyball
• 19 years Boys and Girls Volleyball
• 15 years Boys and Girls Touch
• 18 years Boys and Girls Touch

The selected teams will compete at the Regional Carnival on Tuesday 21st Feb

Students nominate directly to attend the Sunshine Coast Regional trial on the 22nd February in 19 years Boys and Girls Tennis, 14 years Cricket, 19 years Cricket and 19 years Girls Softball

Trial Day 2 2012

Independent District Trial Day 2 on Tuesday 6th March will take place for the following sports.

• 15 years Netball
  19 years Netball
• 18 years Rugby Union
• 19 years Girls and Boys Football (Soccer)
• 18 years Boys and Girls Basketball
• 15 years and Open Boys and Girls Surfing

The selected teams will compete at the Sunshine Coast Regional Carnival on Tuesday 22nd March

Students nominate directly to attend the Sunshine Coast Regional trial on the 20th March in 19 years Boys and Girls Hockey, 15 years AFL, 19 years Golf

Trial Day 3 2012

Independent District Trial Day 3 on Tuesday 8th May will take place for the following sports.

• 15 years Boys and Girls Basketball
• 15 years Rugby Union
• 15 years Girls and Boys Football (Soccer)

The selected teams will compete at the Sunshine Coast Regional Carnival on Tuesday 22nd May

There are a number of trials planned later in 2012 for 2013 selection. These include Water Polo and Triathlon in November. Please see your Sports Head for more information.
